Tripura election 2023, from my personal past experience

Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha was felicitated for Tripura’s victory yesterday at the National Library in Kolkata. Although I could not attend this event. But my experience with this election can be written. So I am writing here.

I have done election work in Tripura for the past 1 month. From January 2023 to February 2023, I was there in Matabari Assembly. A lot of experience for me. I came to Tripura for 15 days for election work last 5 years ago. Then there was a Left Front government led by CPIM for a long time. Since the people there keep less outside news, they had no idea how much development is happening in other places, how much development the Left Front has been able to do for them. When I first went to Tripura from the airport, it was clear that this state was very backward. The small airport is like a Kolkata bus stand. Now I saw that it has changed to international standard. We have to thank our honorable Prime Minister for this. Then what I saw last 5 years ago is that the national highway is so narrow and not wide. Now I saw that 8 national highways have been completed in the last 5 years. Moreover, when I went door-to-door canvassing in Charilam and Kamalasagar Assembles last time, I saw that there were hardly any paved roads in the villages. Now I saw that many roads have been paved. I saw the artificial grass stadium in Matabari. It is not seen even in our state West Bengal. Another major development seen is the railways. The entire Tripura is being connected by rail. Plans are underway to link railways with Chittagong port in Bangladesh. Local trains have started. I found Udaipur station very attractive. About 2.5 target families have been given furnished houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Toilet provided. Many people are being given widow allowance, old age allowance. While in West Bengal they are trying to make people happy by giving an allowance of 500 rupees, the people of Tripura are getting an allowance of 2000 rupees. Tripura is a small state. Many ethnic groups live there. The fight in this election was mainly with the CPIM. But the Tribal Party, Tripura Motha has resurfaced. Now it seems that if there was no BJP government this time then the local BJP workers would have been attacked by their archrival comrades.

This state has room for further development in the coming days. It is possible to take this state to the peak of development with the cooperation of the central government.
