Hon’ble MP and All India Vice President Shri Dilip Ghosh and Hon’ble MP and Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, who was elected as the President of the West Bengal unit of the BJP in September 2021, succeeding Dilip Ghosh were present at the Bijaya Sanmelan of BJP Rajarhat Gopalpur Assembly area. Other state and district leaders were also present on this occasion.
Shri Dilip Ghosh has been praised for his efforts to strengthen the BJP’s presence in West Bengal, a state where the party had very little presence before his arrival.
Under his leadership, the BJP has made significant gains in West Bengal, winning 18 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections and emerging as the main opposition party in the state. However, the party lost the 2021 state assembly elections to the ruling Trinamool Congress.
