After the results of the assembly election, some TMC miscreants have broken the statue of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee. Opposition leader of West Bengal Assembly Shri Shuvendu Adhikari re-constructed the statue at BJP Office, Panihati Bengal Chemicals Bus Stop.
The 2021 West Bengal Assembly Elections witnessed one of the most fiercely contested electoral battles in recent times. The ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi both left no stone unturned to secure a victory in the state. However, the post-poll scenario in West Bengal witnessed unprecedented violence and political vendetta, especially towards the BJP.
Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, one of the founders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, which later became the BJP, was a respected political leader in West Bengal. However, after the 2021 Assembly elections, the TMC-led goons demolished his statue, which sparked an outrage.
The demolition of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s statue was not just an attack on the BJP but an attack on the very idea of democracy. It was a direct assault on the opposition and an attempt to suppress the voices of dissent. It was a clear indication of the TMC’s disregard for democratic values and principles.
The violence that followed the Assembly elections in West Bengal was a reflection of the growing intolerance and polarization in the state’s politics. There were reports of clashes between TMC and BJP workers in various parts of the state. Many BJP workers were beaten up, and their houses were set on fire. The state witnessed a spate of post-poll violence, and the TMC government turned a blind eye to it.
The BJP has accused the TMC of orchestrating the violence and claimed that the state government is responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. The central government has also expressed concern over the violence and urged the TMC government to ensure the safety of all citizens.
The TMC government’s actions have been widely condemned by political leaders across the country. The attack on Shyama Prasad Mukherjee’s statue was seen as a deliberate attempt to provoke the BJP and its supporters. The BJP has demanded strict action against those responsible for the violence and the demolition of the statue.
In conclusion, the post-poll violence in West Bengal is a grim reminder of the state of politics in the country. It is imperative that all political parties and leaders prioritize the welfare of the people and work towards strengthening democracy in the country. The TMC’s actions have only furthered the polarization and division in the state’s politics, and it is high time that the party takes responsibility for its actions and works towards restoring peace and harmony in the state.
